Master Chess Openings with ChessUp: iOS

^{As users advance in their chess journey, there will come a point where refining skills with opening practice becomes essential. Whether facing off against the AI opponent or enjoying a friendly 2-player game, the ChessUp app on iOS offers a comprehensive library of openings to help elevate gameplay and outmaneuver the competition!}

How Users Can Perfect Their Openings:

1. Power Up and Connect: Turn on ChessUp and launch the ChessUp app. Ensure that it’s connected via Bluetooth—check for the connection status in the top right corner.

   

2. Set Up the Game: Select AI Opponent or 2 Player to proceed to the next screen.

   

3. Under Assistance, set it to something greater than 1. This ensures that users will know what move to look for when playing an opening. When a piece is selected, the board will highlight the corresponding square in green. Choose the piece color, time format, and the difficulty level.

   

   
   

4. Advanced Settings: Under Advanced Settings, Toggle/Tap on Choose an Opening. Tap Choose to explore available openings.

   

5. Select an Opening: Browse or search through the extensive list of openings. Openings marked with stars are highly recommended. Tip: Users can also toggle/tap Show All Variations to view all available variations for each opening.

   

6. Start the Game: After selecting an opening, a brief description will appear. When ready, tap Start Game.

   

7. Master the Opening: The app will guide users through the selected opening. After the user makes their first move, confirmation will appear to show that the opening is in progress. Once the opening phase is complete, the green pawn icon will disappear in the app and on the board, allowing users to continue honing their skills!
