Master Chess Openings with ChessUp: Android

As users progress throughout their chess journey, there will come a time when they'll want to sharpen their skills by practicing openings. Whether by challenging the AI opponent or enjoy a 2-player game with a friend, the ChessUp app has a rich library of openings to help you level up your game and outsmart your opponents!

Here is how users can start perfecting their openings:

  1. Power Up and Connect: Turn on your ChessUp board and launch the ChessUp app. Make sure the app confirms that your ChessUp is connected via Bluetooth—look for the indicator in the top right corner.

  2. Choose Your Mode: Select either AI Opponent or 2 Players, depending on whether users want to practice solo or with a partner.

  1. Set Up Your Assistance: On the next screen, under Your Assistance, set it to something greater than 1. This ensures users will get guidance on the next moves in the chosen opening. When users select a piece, the board will highlight the corresponding square in green. Now, choose the piece color, time format, and the difficulty level.

  1. Explore Advanced Settings: Tap on Advanced Settings to access the list of openings.

  1. Pick an Opening: Browse through our extensive list of openings, or use the search function to find the one you want to master. Openings marked with stars are top-rated, so they’re definitely worth a try!

  2. Start the Game: Once opening is selected, users will see a brief description of it. When you're ready, click Start Game.

  3. Practice Makes Perfect: The app will guide users through the chosen opening. After the user makes their first move, users will see confirmation that they are playing the opening they chose. Once the opening phase is over, the opening name will disappear, and you can continue playing with your new skills!
