Hint Limit
The "Hint Limit" is another great feature to help equalize a game between two players with different skill levels.
How does it work?
It sets a limit on the number of pieces the player can touch to get hints. For example if the hint limit is set to 2 then on each turn a player can touch two different pieces to see what the computer offers as hints. Every other piece touched after the hint limit is reached will only show blue squares which means no hints are provided. Pieces that were already touched before reaching the hint limit will still show the computers suggestions. This feature prevents people from, what we call, "green hunting". If there are no hint limits a person can touch every piece until they find a green move. With a hint limit the user must think a little first before touching a piece. Each player has the same hint limit. The hint count resets every time a player moves.
How to set it up
While setting up a game with the app the user can press the toggle switch next to "Hint Limit" to turn on the feature.
There are 6 options 1-5 and infinite. Infinite is the same as having the toggle turned off. We find it most fun to play with a hint limit of 2 or 3. This really requires the player to think about their moves before touching a piece.
